We visit several charming L.A. neighborhoods – including Santa Monica, Westwood Village, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Hollywood – as well as popular L.A. attractions, like the Santa Monica Pier, the Sunset Strip, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and much, much more!
The tour begins in beautiful Santa Monica, home to the famous 3rd Street Promenade, where you get a glimpse of the Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific Ocean with its sandy beaches.
We will stop at the super swanky neighborhood of Beverly Hills, where you’ll have a chance to browse high end designer shops and rub elbows with the fabulously wealthy on Rodeo Drive. Then we head down the one and only Sunset Strip, where you’ll get a glimpse of legendary hotspots like the Rainbow Room and the House of Blues. Our next stop is Hollywood Boulevard, where you can look for your favorite movie stars on the Walk of Fame and check out their footprints and handprints in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. See how your hands measure up to those of the governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or child star Shirley Temple. Right around the corner, you will find the Kodak Theatre – where they hold and broadcast the Academy Awards – as well as plenty of shopping and dining outlets in the giant Hollywood & Highland complex.
Next, we’ll cruise one of the most scenic streets in Los Angeles, Mulholland Drive, stopping off in the Hollywood Hills so you can enjoy some truly amazing view of downtown Los Angeles and the historic Hollywood Sign. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Pacific Ocean, and it’s the perfect place to snap a few pics of this unique city.
Then you’re on your way to Universal Studios, the world’s largest movie studio and theme park, where you’ll get a “behind the scenes” look at film production and learn how special effects make your favorite movies come to life. See exclusive shows, like Shrek 4-D and Terminator 2; 3-D, and enjoy one of a kind rides, including The Simpsons, Jurassic Park and the Revenge of the Mummy. But beware… this very dark, thrill-a-minute roller coaster is not for the faint of heart!
No trip to Universal Studios Hollywood is complete without the Studio Tour, now hosted by comedian Jimmy Fallon. The tour – which includes Peter Jackson’s seriously intense King Kong 360 3D experience – explores the world famous Universal Backlot. But ladies and gentlemen, be sure to keep your hands and feet inside the tram; that killer great white, Jaws, always makes an appearance.
Close out your day with a visit to Universal CityWalk, a retail, dining and entertainment complex. It’s a perfect place to shop for movie memorabilia and grab a bite to eat at the Hollywood Hard Rock Café.
